Insured Care

Just insured care

A treatment at Cortoclinics falls under the Dutch basic insurance and is therefore reimbursed. For reimbursement, a referral letter from your general practitioner is required. You only pay the mandatory deductible, and your health insurance does not cover any costs for physiotherapy and medication.

Referral Letter from General Practitioner

To reimburse our care through your Dutch health insurance, a referral letter from your general practitioner, specifically Cortoclinics, is necessary. Make sure to bring this letter to your first appointment.

Suppose you do not have the referral letter at your first visit. In that case, we cannot perform the treatment as reimbursed care. We, therefore, cannot declare it, even if the condition falls under the basic package.

In that case, your insurer will not provide reimbursement. We can still provide the care as ‘non-reimbursed care,’ but the costs will be entirely at your expense.

What Does the Insurance Cover?

Our treatments and examinations are always covered by Dutch health insurance. Sometimes, the health insurer only reimburses a certain percentage of the costs. The portion not covered by the insurer will be paid by Cortoclinics. Except for the three points mentioned below, there are no additional costs for you.

Where Are You Insured?

Zilveren Kruis, Interpolis, FBTO, De Friesland, CZ, OHRA, Nationale Nederlanden, PZP, DSW, Stad Holland, InTwente, Salland, A.S.R., SZVK, Menzis, HEMA, or Anderzorg

With these health insurers, you will receive our invoice via Infomedics. Visit our Infomedics page to learn how your invoice is processed.

Other Insurers

For other insurers, billing is done directly from Cortoclinics to the insurer, and you don’t need to do anything further. The insurer reimburses Cortoclinics directly, and you will receive a specification from your insurer, which you don’t need to act on.

What Do You Pay Yourself?

  • Deductible

Everyone aged 18 and older who receives care from basic insurance pays an annual mandatory deductible. The amount is determined when you take out your insurance.

  • Costs for Physiotherapy

The reimbursement for physiotherapy depends on your insurance policy. Costs not covered by your insurer are at your own expense, except for treatments during hospitalization.

  • Costs for Medication

Some insurers do not fully reimburse medication or set a personal contribution. You pay this contribution yourself.

Non-contracted rates

We are legally required to list walk-in rates on our website.

What are "passantentarieven" (non-contracted rates)?

In some cases, you may need to pay the invoice for your treatment yourself. For example, if your insurer does not have a contract with Cortoclinics, if you wish to receive non-insured care, or if you are not insured. The rates set for these situations are referred to as “passantentarieven” (non-contracted rates).

For these rates, the following applies:
  • The rates are subject to change; national or internal developments may lead to adjustments
  • The start date of the Diagnosis Treatment Code (DBC) determines the rate
  • The rates have been carefully established. We accept no liability for errors in the published list
