Since 2018, Cortoclinics has used Mako robotic arm technology to place hip and knee prostheses with the highest precision. Since August 2023, we have been working with the 2.0 version of this technology for the knee in our clinic (the updated version for the hip was already introduced). The software update has resulted in even more precise alignment, which you, as a client, directly benefit from.
“A perfectly placed prosthesis wears out less quickly, causes fewer residual complaints, and moves better. This prevents premature re-operations,” says orthopedic surgeon Nanne Kort. “Moreover, surgery with a Mako is much less invasive than traditional methods. This makes recovery easier.”
Cortoclinics was the first in the Netherlands to use robotic arm-sassisted technology in 2018 and was the only clinic to use it for years. Now, Cortoclinics is the first and the only user in the Netherlands of the update. “Mako 2.0 is another step forward in placing hip and knee prostheses.”
